 To access your authentic voice, you need a safe, non-judgmental environment. This is necessary because self-censoring inhibits the version of yourself that needs to emerge. In psychotherapy I offer this kind of environment so that I can help you to develop compassion for who you already are. From this stance of self-compassion and self-respect, we can together look at any patterns of thinking, feeling, acting, and relating that might be hindering you in some way–patterns that once probably served you, but that now you need to move past.

Therapy can seem daunting, but you do not have to do the work alone. Collaboratively we will work to address your fears and access your hopes, generating new expectations and new possibilities.

About Me

I have wide and varied professional experience, including working in the environmental not-for-profit sector, and teaching music to kids and teens with special needs. My path toward psychotherapy was highly influenced by the years I spent working in a bookstore specializing in psychotherapy and mental health. There I often had long discussions with the shop’s clientele and carefully matched books to the needs they described. I also listened in as an on-site bookseller at conferences as hundreds of authors presented their ideas on promoting mental health. While the latter work experience was most influential for me in psychotherapeutic training, all of these commitments have connected me to people in a way that has informed my training as a psychotherapist.

I have been working with individuals in private practice as a psychotherapist since and see a wide range of people. I am registered with the Ontario College of Psychotherapists, am a member of the Canadian Association of Psychodynamic Therapists, and am a Clinical Member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists.

Sessions are held in my office in Toronto; however, if circumstances make that temporarily difficult I do phone sessions and Skype.
